Website design and front-end development

In 2025, Threehaus Works, a boutique interior design studio from Singapore, sought to redesign their digital presence to reflect their continued growth and success over the past 2 years.

As a fast-growing startup with a mission to expand their project portfolio across Singapore and other countries, they needed a website that effectively communicates their expertise while driving conversions.

Problem space

Roughly half of all homeowners in Singapore renovate about every six years. This means that for every 10 homes, about 5 of them will undergo a renovation within a six-year cycle. This isn't just new couples; it includes existing homeowners refreshing their space as their needs change. While there are many interior design firms available, they often fall short in delivering a seamless digital experience, creating friction points that lead to client drop-off.

Recognizing this gap, we saw this as a massive opportunity to help Threehaus stand out with a more connected renovation journey and digital experience for their clients.

Research

On average, home-owners browse more than 10 interior design firms in a single-day during their home renovation journey. In the early stages of this project, I interviewed up to 5 couples to understand their use-case and struggles when browsing for the ideal renovation partner.

Common Pain Points

Struggle navigating to relevant projects

50% of drop-offs happen when participants are forced to scroll through dozens of irrelevant projects with no proper filtering options such as location or housing-type, leaving them confused and lost.

Disjointed portfolio experience

On some websites, participants get redirected to external platforms like Facebook or Instagram when viewing projects in full or even encounter images that are way too small on their devices, breaking their browsing flow and creating fragmented touchpoints as a consumer.

Hidden project context

Participants reported that they miss essential details from case studies such as location, budget or housing-type when browsing projects which often leaves them confused on qualifying their design choices.

Solution

The new website addressed these gaps by introducing essential filtering options, clearer project labeling across all projects, and consolidated firm information including location, social media links, and contact forms at positions of the website that are not awkward and don't feel pushy (for sales). The responsive design also ensures that projects stay fully displayed across all devices.

Impact

Giving new home owners a peace of mind

Since the team at Threehaus Works is so friendly and approachable, I focused on conveying the same warmth - always keeping it simple and easy to browse the beautiful works by the team. I'm thrilled to be part of their website refresh and wish them all the best!
